The Mercure Southampton Centre Dolphin Hotel sponsors Southampton’s Solent Saints football team
Earlier this week Neil Brailsford, general manager of the new Mercure Southampton Centre Dolphin Hotel, officially launched the hotel’s sponsorship of Southampton’s Solent Saints football team during their inaugural season.
Solent Saints FC is an FA Chartered Standard Club and was formed by students of Southampton Solent University earlier this year. The Team range in age from 16 – 22 years and are playing their first season in Division Two of the Southampton Saturday League. They have also successfully got through the first round of the Hampshire Junior County Cup.
Neil Brailsford, general manager at The Mercure Southampton Centre Dolphin Hotel said: “I am thrilled to be able to support Solent Saints FC in a partnership which combines my two passions; supporting youth and community initiatives in the region and “the glorious game”.”

Located in the heart of the city centre, the historic Dolphin Hotel has been hosting great events and celebrations since the 1400s with notable guests such as Queen Victoria, Admiral Lord Nelson and Jane Austen. Following an extensive refurbishment the hotel re-opened in May 2010 as Mercure Southampton Centre Dolphin Hotel with 90 contemporary styled bedrooms, the Signature Restaurant, the Oak Bar and Coffee Lounge, the Jane Austen Suite and the Gilbert Suite. The Hotel is licensed for wedding ceremonies and, provides WiFi throughout and offers on-site parking available for up to 80 cars.
